But from time to time, we find it important to share what goes on behind the scenes at Heller Consulting.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, we wrote about <a href=\"https:\/\/teamheller.com\/resources\/blog\/diversity-equity-and-inclusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our work around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)<\/a> at Team Heller. Today, we continue our efforts to cultivate an environment in which people from a range of backgrounds are welcome and heard. That\u2019s why we support and value the commitment to DEI by our partners, Salesforce and Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of their efforts around DEI:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>SALESFORCE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Salesforce publishes their representation goals and Equality data annually. For example, they published a representation goal last year of having 50% of their U.S. workforce made up of underrepresented groups by 2023. This year, they announced additional goals focused on race and ethnicity.<\/p>\n<p>The company also has announced new initiatives and expanded on existing programs. Their strategies include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uniting equality and recruiting \u2014 which includes creating a diversity recruiting team<\/li>\n<li>Investing in development \u2014 which focuses on growing future diverse leaders<\/li>\n<li>Supporting retention and belonging \u2014 which includes launching an employee advocacy program<\/li>\n<li>Adopting inclusive practices \u2014 which includes empowering employees with inclusive business practices<\/li>\n<li>Leading with data \u2014 which includes providing senior leaders at the company with regular scorecards<\/li>\n<li>Empowering Equality Groups \u2014 which are employee-led organizations that support underrepresented communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019re proud of Salesforce\u2019s commitment to DEI. In fact, we are a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/announcing-salesforceorg-equality-partners-amy-pannu-rose#:~:text=By%20signing%20up%20as%20an,working%20towards%20driving%20Equity!)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salesforce Equality Partner<\/a>, which means we share Salesforce\u2019s values around DEI. As part of our shared commitment to DEI, members of our team participated in panels about DEI at the 2020 and 2021 Salesforce Partner Summit events.<\/p>\n<p>Find out more details about Salesforce\u2019s efforts, including free resources, around DEI: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/equality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit the Salesforce Equality page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MICROSOFT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Microsoft also publishes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/diversity\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">information about their ongoing efforts around diversity and inclusion<\/a>, which includes representation data and a DEI report. Microsoft began publicly sharing their annual workforce demographics in 2014. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2020\/10\/21\/microsofts-2020-diversity-inclusion-report-a-commitment-to-accelerate-progress-amidst-global-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020 report<\/a> reflects trends and learnings over the five most recent demographic data disclosures.<\/p>\n<p>Part of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/23\/addressing-racial-injustice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft\u2019s commitments to increasing diversity<\/a> include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing representation and culture of inclusion \u2014 which includes building on their diversity and inclusion momentum from the past five years by adding an additional $150M of D&amp;I investment, and doubling the number of Black and African American people managers, senior individual contributors, and senior leaders in the United States by 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Engaging their ecosystem \u2014 which includes using their balance sheet and engagement with suppliers and partners to extend the vision for societal change throughout our ecosystem, creating new opportunities for them and the communities they serve.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening communities \u2014 which involves using the power of data, technology, and partnership to help improve the lives of Black and African American citizens across our country, including addressing the safety and well-being of Microsoft\u2019s own employees in the communities in which they live.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Microsoft also shares a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/diversity\/beyond-microsoft\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full library of learning resources<\/a> to help others create inclusive environments. In addition, they use and promote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/design\/inclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inclusive design principles<\/a> to help ensure they recognize exclusions and learn from diversity in their own technology design.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Moving forward with DEI<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As we continue our efforts around DEI, we\u2019re proud to partner with nonprofit technology providers that stand committed to DEI work.
